Here is LitJam in a nutshell: LitJam 2024--a student writing conference. LitJam serves students in Garfield District in grades 5-8th and is a one day event. We will have about 135 students attending.
Lit Jam will be Tuesday, March 19th at Escalante High School from 10:30am-3:00pm (as well as an after school author meet-and-greet and scholastic book fair) The students will attend a keynote address, rotate between five classes focused on different writing topics, and meet together for awards.
Attending students submitted an original writing piece in any of the following categories--fiction, non-fiction, and poetry that were then reviewed and scored by a panel of judges.

- 10:30-11:30--Keynote (Auditorium)
- 11:30-12:00-- Class 1
- 12:00-12:30-- Lunch (5/6th) Class 2 (7/8th)
- 12:30-1:00--Class 2 (5/6th) Lunch (7/8th)
- 1:00-1:30--Class 3
- 1:30-2:00--Class 4
- 2:00-2:30--Class 5
- 2:30-3:00--Awards (Auditorium)
- 3:00-4:00--Author Meet and Greet, Book Fair, Bake Sale in New Commons (Public Invited)
